Requested & Expanded Announcements
December 30, 2018

Noisy Offering ~ Our noisy offering this morning is for the Love INC Christmas project in which we provided gifts for a
family in need at Christmas time. Any extra change from this will be sent to Love INC to be used for the Christmas project next year. For the months of January and February your “pocket change” will be given to the Love INC Ministry to provide assistance in helping clients in northwest Allegan County.

Evening Service will be held at Hamilton Reformed Church at 6 pm. Rev. Jacob Porter will lead the time of worship. Everyone is welcome to come and worship with our community brothers and sisters.

Newsletter ~ The January newsletter is available in your church mailbox. This newsletter includes updates from our missionaries.

Sunday School will not meet today, but will resume next Sunday, January 6.

Fellowship Night ~ Our next Fellowship Night will be January 9. We will be having a “Winter Cook-Out” (hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill). Cadets, GEMS and Youth Group will also begin a new session.

GRACE 360 Youth Group will meet on Wednesday, January 9 at 6:30 pm in the youth room. We will have a lesson on Trust from Proverbs 3:5-6.

Chili Cook-Off and Bread Bake-Off will be held on Wednesday, January 23. If you would like to enter your chili and / or
bread for taste testing sign-up in the fellowship hall. We need many entries for this fun event.

Nursery Helpers ~ Beginning in January reminders will no longer be mailed to nursery volunteers. The schedule will continue to be in the Observer two months at a time and in the extended announcements two weeks at a time. Just a reminder that both the adult and the younger helpers should find their own replacement. If you would like to volunteer in the nursery during the morning service, contact the church office to have your name added to the list. Your willingness to serve is appreciated.

Kid’s Corner ~ There is trash in the bayou and in the playground. Who is responsible for cleaning it up? Go to
www.kidscorner.net to hear the story and find the “God Is Faithful” Memory Jar Activity as you look ahead to the new year?
Family Faith Formation ~ As one year ends and a new year begins, gather as a family to remember the highs and lows of
this past year. Thank God for being with you through everything that happened. Then talk about what’s coming up in the new year. This is also a great time to start new family faith formation practices in your home! (Faith Formation Ministries: crcna.org/FaithFormation).

2019 January Series ~ The award winning free liberal arts education delivered in 15 weekly, lunchtime lectures. This
year the series begins on January 3 and continues weekdays through January 23 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm with topics such as technology and faith, the church and disabilities, restorative justice, cancer research, the #metoo movement and so much more, by top experts in their fields. Thousands in west Michigan will join on Calvin College’s campus; others will watch the live feed at more than 50 remote webcast sites, while others listen online. For more information about speakers, topics, remote sites and listening options, go to www.calvin.edu/january.
