September 9, 2018
Coffee With the Pastor will be held today at 4 pm at the parsonage. Pastor Jake and Kris invite you to come for dessert
and a time of life giving conversation. You can come with questions about the morning sermon, ideas of how to apply God’s word to your life or come and be encouraged by the conversation.
Evening Worship Services will be held at our church for the month of September. Tonight Pastor Jake will lead the worship service. Join for this time of worship with our brothers and sisters from Hamilton Reformed Church.
Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 pm at Berend & Nancy’s home. We will discuss lesson 12, Investing in Heaven.
Fellowship Night and Kick-Off will be held this Wednesday, September 12. A church potluck will be held from 5:30 –
6:30 pm. At 6:30 the church team will take on the youth group in a game of kick ball. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to share; beverage and paper products will be provided. This event takes place at the Heath Township Park located by the fire station. Come and join this fun night whether to cheer on a team or play on the church team and enjoy the fellowship.
Youth Group ~ We will be having our kick-off for the season on Wednesday, September 12. We will be challenging the church family to a game of kick ball at Heath Township Park. Supper will be from 5:30 – 6:30 pm and the game will begin at 6:30 pm. We will have a lesson in the youth room on September 19.
Ladies Guild ~ The autumn session will begin on September 18 at 10 am in the fellowship hall. We will review and continue our study of lesson three. We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The session concludes on December 18th. Any ladies wishing to study with us are most welcome. If you are in need of a study book contact the church office.
RVL Video Study ~ This fall we will be diving into another RVL video series, The Mission of Jesus. We will begin this study on Wednesday, September 19 from 6:30 – 8 pm in the fellowship hall and meet on the first and third Wednesday evenings. Childcare will be provided.
Fellowship Night / Town Hall Meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 26. A meal will be available in the church
fellowship hall from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. A town hall meeting will begin at 6:30 pm in which we will hear an update of our church.
Hungry for Christ Food Distribution will be held on Wednesday, September 19 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at Haven Reformed Church. Thank you to those who have been faithfully supporting this mission by volunteering to distribute food. For this last food distribution of the year we need volunteers starting at 11:30 am to help set-up the food, refreshments, registration and a few other tasks. Each volunteer is appreciated at these food distributions. You are invited to the Send Dinner at Bentheim Reformed Church on Saturday, September 29. This special event is to support a team of 19 laborers Bentheim is sending into the Lord’s harvest field of Guatemala in January 2019. Reception at 6 pm, dinner at 6:30 pm followed by entertainment and a silent auction. Cost is $25 per person or $200 to reserve a table of 8. Donations ~ The Love INC Heart-to-Heart Resale Store is in need of good quality items that you no longer need. They accept donations of clothing, household items, furniture, toys, games, tools and miscellaneous items. Donations can be brought to the store (4621 – 135th Avenue), Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 5 pm and Saturday, 9:30 – 2 pm. You can also shop the store to find many great bargains. Your support of this ministry here in Hamilton is appreciated.
Book Signing ~ The Howard Miller Library in Zeeland is excited to announce that Beverly Lewis, bestselling author of over 80 Christian fiction titles, will be visiting the library on Wednesday, September 12 at 10 am. She will be speaking briefly and greeting fans during a book signing in promotion of her newest title, “The First Love”, available for sale. Books will be available for purchase at the event; however attendees are welcome to bring their own copies of her works as well.
The Christian Reformed Conference Grounds (12253 Lakeshore Dr., Grand Haven) is excited to welcome Chris Hansen and the Hark Up “Good Old Gospel Hymnsing” on Saturday, September 15. We hope you will join us for this special evening of traditional gospel songs and hymns with a “down home”, foot stompin’ celebration! The doors to the Worship Center will open at 6 pm, the concert begins at 7 pm. No tickets are needed, however a free-will offering will be taken to help offset the music ministry. Come early for a delicious Baked Chicken dinner served in the Sunshine Room from 5 – 6:30 pm.
