OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today ~ This morning Pastor Jake will lead us in worship as we continue the series on the book of Luke.

Offering ~ A special offering will be taken this morning for Pastor Jake & Kris’ trip to Israel.  They will be leaving on Thursday afternoon, May 25 and return on June 9.  Keep them in your prayers during this time.  Next Sunday, May 28, Rev. Maxwell Nkansah will lead us in worship and June 4, Rev. Sara Farkas will lead us in worship.

Graduation Potluck will be held today at 12 noon in the Fellowship Hall.  Please bring a hot and cold dish to share;  tableware, beverage and cake will be provided.  Join us as we celebrate our high school graduates – Andrew Dykstra, Sarah Linkous, and Brandon Tincher; college graduates – Matthew Nyboer, Rebekah Nyboer.  (Please note – if you did not remember to prepare a dish to share, you are still welcome to the potluck)

Evening Service will be held at 6 pm at Hamilton Reformed Church.  Mr. Ron Lugten will lead the worship service.

Pancake Breakfast Volunteers are needed for the Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast on May 29 hosted by our church.  If you can help serve breakfast starting at 6:30 am sign the sheet on the Welcome Table.  We need many helpers to serve breakfast to the Hamilton community.

Offerings ~ General Fund offering for May 21 was $4,470.00;  Building Fund offering was $275.00.

 Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, May 23 at 7 pm at Phyl Nyboer’s home.  We will be discussing lesson 4 from Psalm 8.

Pancake Breakfast ~ Our church will be hosting the Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast on Monday, May 29 in the church fellowship hall.  If you would like to help with serving breakfast to the Hamilton Community, sign-up at the Welcome Table.  Many workers are needed to help with this project.  If you are unable to help on Monday morning, contact Sandi Nyboer or Michele Dykstra to find out what else needs to be done in preparation for this breakfast.

Church ~ Pastor Jake & Kris will be leaving on May 25 and returning on June 9.  During Pastor Jake’s absence if you have a need, please contact your district elder or the church office.

Church Newsletter ~ Information for the June newsletter  is needed today and can be placed in the newsletter box in the narthex.

Baccalaureate Service for the Hamilton High School Class of 2017 will be held on Sunday, May 21 at 2:30 pm at the Overisel Reformed Church.  The graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 25 at the high school.

Hamilton Lion’s Club Community Chicken BBQ will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm at the Hamilton Middle School Cafeteria.  Tickets can be purchased from Stan Gates or any Lions Club member or at the door at the time of the event.  You can eat in the cafeteria or take out is available.  Help support this community event.

Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 29 starting at 9 am.  See the back of this page for line-up instructions and come and be part of Hamilton’s parade.  A memorial service will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

History Day ~ Hamilton Reformed Church will be hosting a history day on Wednesday, May 31 in their fellowship hall, from 2 pm – 9 pm as they celebrate their 130th birthday this year.  Come and go as you please, but please come and join the celebration of God’s faithfulness to Hamilton Reformed and the faithfulness of our forefathers.  Come see the displays of artifacts, photos, videos and more.

Baby Basket Ministry ~ Bentheim Reformed Church coordinates the Baby Basket Ministry of Love INC clients and is doing a drive for donations of items for the baskets.  Each year baskets for newborns are given to expecting moms or new moms.  These baskets are greatly appreciated and are a lovely gesture!  Items needed are:  Diapers (newborn), baby shampoo, and lotion, wash cloths, baby socks, bottles, wet wipes, rattles, teethers, toys, pacifiers, receiving blankets.  If you would like to donate items for these baskets, please bring your donations to the Love INC Office in Hamilton.  Donations will be accepted through June.  For information call 269.751.2533.

Christian Reformed Conference Grounds on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan in Grand Haven, still has camping openings for Memorial Day weekend.  Check out our available sites at www.crcg.org and then give us a call at 616.842.4478 to make your reservation.  The heated pool will be open, all of your favorite ice cream flavors will be here, and we know you want to come and get some of our famous home-made pie that you have been dreaming about since last summer!  Don’t want to cook!  No problem, our restaurant will be open with all kinds of tasty food selections.  Don’t miss out on this fun kick-off to summer!

Thank You ~ The Sunday School children say “thank you” for your pocket change during the Sunday School season.  When we passed the cans you gave and for that we say “thank you”.  You helped provide water for children in Haiti through World Renew ($283.50); you helped people in Hamilton through Love INC ($1,000.00); you provided Christmas gifts through Love INC Sponsor-a-Family ($317.85); you provided diapers for the Belize Children’s Home ($539.00); and provided weekend meals for school children through Hand2Hand Ministry ($461.39).  Thank you for giving your change and we will be collecting your pocket change again next Sunday School season starting in September.
