OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

 Morning Worship Service will be led by Rev. Ron De Young.  We will also celebrate Holy Communion.  If you believe the Lord Jeuss Christ is your Savior from sin and if you are a confessing member of His church, you are welcome to join in the Lord’s Supper this morning.

Service ~ Rev. Roger Kleinheksel will lead us in worship next Sunday, August 10.

Community Service ~ For the month of August the evening Community Worship services will be held at Hamiton Reformed Church at 6 pm.  Tonight Dr. Habeeb Awad will speak on the Conflict of Israel and Palestine.

Vacation Bible School ~ This morning a DVD will be shown during the offering to share all the excitement that 190 children experienced during Bible School Week.  Thank you to those who volunteered, donated items and prayed!  It was an awesome four nights!

Supper & Auction night will be Thursday, August 7.  Supper begins at 5:30; auction at 7 pm in the church fellowship hall.  Hosted by Lakeshore Quest Ministries.

Ladies Guild Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, August 5 at 10:30 am at the home of Naomi Olson for a   social  time and to look over study material for the coming year.    All ladies are  welcome to join us as we look forward to a new season of studying God’s word together.

Supper and Auction ~ The Lakeshore Quest Ministries will be hosting a Supper & Auction night in the fellowship hall on Thursday, August 7.  Sloppy Joe’s, potato salad, beverage and dessert will be available                from 5:30 – 7pm; with the auction at 7 pm.  Your support will help send Michelle Shirey on a deer hunt   at the Legends Ranch in Bitely, Michigan.  If you have items to donate to the auction contact Ken &  Verna Berens at 751.5967.  Come out and support this ministry!

Youth Outreach Project will be held this Saturday, August 9.  Meet at the church parking lot at 4 pm to go   and serve supper at Holland Rescue Mission.  Anyone is welcome to join; contact Zena Walters if you  plan to help.

Baby Basket is out in the fellowship hall to welcome Keagan Jean Vander Bok, daughter of Matt & Jill.   Help   welcome Keagan with your love.  Gifts may be placed in the basket until August 24.

Men’s Breakfast will be held on Saturday, August 16 from 8 -9 am.  All men, young and old, are welcome to  a great breakfast in the fellowship hall.

Cookies are needed for Sunday morning fellowship time.  Sign-up in the fellowship hall for the Sunday that    you can donate home-made or store-bought cookies.  (please avoid cookies with peanut butter, tree   nuts and peanuts.)

Library ~ Slavery was abolished in the United Sates with the Civil War, but it is still accepted in a lot of the   world and is still occurring in the United States.  Shyima was 8-years-old in 1997 when her Egyptian   parents sold her to pay a family debit.  She was brought to the U.S. illegally and worked here for several  years before being rescued.  The book, “Hidden Girl:  The True Story of a Modern Day Child Slave” has   been added to the church library.

Hungry for Christ will be having a Car Show and Open House on Saturday, August 9, 12 noon – 3pm at their    facility (3871 – 144th Avenue, Hamilton).  Come and enjoy free food, tours of the facility, live music along with fire trucks and face painting for the kids.

Love INC is in need of volunteers, small groups, Bible study groups to help provide meals for the children  that come to Life Skills at Thursday evenings at Haven Reformed Church.  The majority of the children that come are not fed before they arrive and the children have come to enjoy these meals.  This is an  opportunity to introduce table manners and participate in a sit-down meal with these children.  There is  an average of 15-20 children per week and the meal is served at 6:15.  Volunteers would be responsible    for preparing, serving and clean-up.  If you would be willing to commitment to one week about every 10-15 weeks, please call Jean Eding at 751.2533, ext. 107 or email:  loveincje@frontier.com

Backpack Ministry through Love INC is in need of pencil boxes, graph paper, 3-ring binders, loose paper,  protractors, 2-pocket folders, spiral notebooks and highlighters to help fill the backpacks.  Your  donations can be brought to the Love INC office in Hamilton.

Gracias Honduras Mission Report will be given on Sunday, August 10 at 5 pm at the Overisel Reformed   Church.  The service of worship will be led by the members who went to Gracias in July.  We realize   many of you sponsor children in Gracias and may be interested in seeing what God is doing through  World Vision and your prayers to build strong families and communities in Honduras.  All are invited
