OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Thank You to those who came with their dirty cars to support the High School Youth Car Wash this past Monday.  We were able to clean up some cars and thank you for your donations of $342.  It is very much appreciated.

Pray for the High School Youth and Leaders as they left this morning for their mission trip to Logan, West Virginia.  They will be returning on Friday night, June 19.

Rachael Nyboer will be having surgery on Thursday to remove a mole that has been diagnosed as melanoma.  Remember her and Kevin in your prayers.

Hazel Geurink will celebrate her 88th birthday on June 21.  Remember her with a birthday blessing.  Also remember to pray for all of our elderly church family.

OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Morning Service ~ This morning Pastor Jake will lead us in worship.  We will also celebrate Holy Communion and reflect on Jesus’ death for our sins.

Evening Service ~ Our evening service will be a praise and worship given by the Singing Dominees of Holland.

Community Breakfast will be held on Saturday, June 20 from 8 – 9 am in the church fellowship hall.  Come for a great breakfast and fellowship before starting the day.  Everyone is welcome!

Next Sunday morning the Youth Mission Team will share of their mission work week in West Virgina.

Community Garden ~ If you enjoy working in the garden come out on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm to help maintain the Community Garden.

Outdoor Worship Service will be held on Sunday, June 28 at 6 pm.  We will worship in the backyard of Pastor Jake and Kris’ house.  An ice cream social will follow the service.

Youth Group Mission Team ~ This morning our high school youth and leaders left for their mission project to Logan, West Virginia.  Their plans are to arrive tonight and begin work on Monday morning.    Remember these youths and leaders through this week for their safety, health, team building and as  they work that they may be examples of Jesus.   They plan to arrive home on Friday evening, June 19.

The Singing Dominees will lead us in worship tonight.  This group consists of four retired ministers from the  Holland area.  Join us in singing God’s praises.  An offering will be received for their ministry.

Collection  ~ Remember to save your Spartan UPC labels for our church library.  These labels may be placed in the container in the fellowship hall.  Also your empty pop cans can be placed in the barrel in the narthex.  The GATE ministry uses the deposit to fund their ministry.

CRCNA Synod 2015 of the Christian Reformed Church is being held this week at Dordt College in Iowa. The  First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux, Iowa invites you to join them in praying for Synod, its agenda and all those participating in it.   Visit the Synod prayer page at www.crcna.org/synod for prayer helps and to sign up for a time to pray at home.

Harvest Christian Fellowship voted at their meeting on June 7 to move forward to sustain its mission and ministry in the greater Hamilton area.  The next milestone will be the authorization and creation of a  pastor search committee.  “We still face many challenges and hurdles to overcome before this ministry is  fully ready to come alongside the rest of you to reach our community with the love and good news of  Christ.  Please continue to keep us in prayer”.

Imagine Fellowship Ministry (Classis Holland) ~ After seven years of fruitful Kingdom ministry, Imagine            Fellowship Church is closing.  Maple Avenue Ministries, a nearby neighbor, will be enfolding those from Imagine Fellowship who are interested to become part of this ministry.  Pastor Wayne Coleman has  been employed in a part time staff role at Millbrook CRC in Grand Rapids.  A special Juneteenth service    will begin at 5 pm on Sunday, June 21 at Imagine Fellowship and journey on foot one block north to  conclude at Maple Avenue Ministries.  You are invited to attend as we honor the work God has done    through Imagine Fellowship’s congregation and leaders and celebrate the transition that is underway.

Right to Life of Holland Area will be having a Car Show on Wednesday, July 15 at the Engedi Church (710  Waverly – Holland).  This is an event for the entire family and will feature horse & buggy rides for kids, face painting, games and prizes for kids.  Cars will be voted by judges and spectators ballots.  For more   information contact 616.396.1037.

Fulfilling Life Ministries (5734 – 143nd Avenue Holland) will have their Annual 7th Summer Picnic on Saturday, July 18 starting at 3:30 pm.  There will be food, kids games, The Critter Barn, fishing,  hayrides,  entertainment, music from Down Home and ID Crew.  Everyone welcome.

Save the Date ~ Invite a friend and plan to come to a unique retreat – designed to glorify God through great     music and speakers and to renew and uplift all who attend.  This exciting event is being planned for you on Thursday, September 10 at Friendship Christian Reformed Church in Byron Center, Michigan and it hosted by Bible League International Volunteers.  Brochures with more details are available by the church mailboxes.
