Requested & Expanded Announcements
May 13, 2018

Sunday School for Pre-K – 5th grade will be dismissed during morning worship. This will be a special time for the children with Denise and Courtny as leaders.

Evening Worship Service will be held at 6 pm at Hamilton Reformed Church. Tonight Rev. Adam Van Der Stoep of
Hamilton Reformed will lead the worship service. You are invited to join with our brothers and sisters at Hamilton Reformed in worshipping together.

Ladies Guild Bible Study will be meeting on Tuesday, May 15 at 10 am. We will be discussing lesson 3, “For Such a Time
as This”. After our lesson we will be having a luncheon at the Trestle Stop Restaurant. This will conclude our Spring study session and we will resume in September with our study “Esther”.

Open House ~ An Open House will be held at the parsonage on Wednesday, May 16 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Stop by and see the improvements that were made to the parsonage and enjoy some refreshments.

Youth Group will meet this Wednesday, May 16 and we will be going to the Holland Rescue Mission Gateway Center. We will be leaving church at 6 pm. Dates to remember: Memorial Day lesson on May 23 at 6:30 pm in the Youth Room; Youth Worship Service will be held on May 27 at 9:30 am.

Church Potluck will be held on Sunday noon, May 20 in the church fellowship hall. Come and celebrate our high school graduates. You are asked to bring a hot and cold dish to share; beverage, cake and table service will be provided.

Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, May 22 at 7 pm at Garry & Marian’s house. Our lesson is “The Future of the Human Person”.

Youth Sunday Service will be held on Sunday, May 27 at 9:30 am.

College Graduates ~ If you have graduated from college for the 2017 / 2018 school year, please let the church office know by Tuesday so that you can be recognized at the potluck next Sunday and in the June newsletter.

Newsletter ~ Information for the June church newsletter must be received by May 20 and may be placed in the newsletter box in the narthex.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Pancake Breakfast Volunteers ~ Our church will be hosting the Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast on Monday, May 28. We are in need of volunteers to help prepare, serve and clean-up for this community event. If you can help out please sign the sheet on the Welcome Table.

Vacation Bible School ~ Our church is teaming up with Hamilton Reformed Church for Vacation Bible School. This means we need to provide volunteers to help with crafts, activities, decorating and class leaders and helpers. VBS will be held Monday, July 23 – Wednesday, July 25, 6 – 8:30 pm. If you would like to help, please sign up at the Welcome Table. This will be a fun three evenings of helping children learn about the love of Jesus.

Hungry for Christ food distribution will be held on Wednesday, May 16 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at Haven Reformed Church. Volunteers are needed to help set-up and hand-out food from 11:30 am – 2 pm. The food distribution will be held the third Wednesday of each month through September and volunteers will be needed each time.

Love INC has a need for volunteers for the LIFE Skills on Thursday evenings. Volunteers are needed to prepare and /
or serve a meal for 40 adults and 20 children. Volunteers are also needed in the children’s ministry in either the nursery or with the elementary age children during Life Skills. You can volunteer once a month, once a year, weekly whatever fits your schedule. You can team up with friends or a church group to serve a meal on Thursday evenings. Community Announcements
Baccalaureate Service ~ You are invited to the Baccalaureate Service of the Hamilton High School Class of 2018, which will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, May 20 at Overisel Reformed Church.

Thank You ~ The Thrift Store Crawl was a great success for the Love INC Heart-to-Heart Resale store. However, it depleted our inventory, especially of furniture. If you have good items that you are willing to donate think of Love INC. Donations of clothing, household items, toys, games, tools, miscellaneous items, and furniture are always needed and can be brought to the store (4621 – 135th Avenue), Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 5 pm and Saturday, 9:30 am – 2 pm. If you need to make arrangements for pick-up of items to donate call the Heart-to-Heart Store at 269.751.8642. Thank you for your help in supporting this ministry here in Hamilton.

Hamilton Area Events:
Love INC ~ Do you enjoy running or walking? The Rural Rush Run for Love INC will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Overisel Reformed Church. The 5k Run will begin at 8:30 am with the 1 mile fun run at 9:45 am. The runs start and end at Overisel Reformed Church. The cost for the 5K is $25 with proceeds supporting Love INC. Hamilton Lion’s Club Community Chicken BBQ will be held on Wednesday, May 23 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at the Hamilton Middle School Cafeteria. Tickets can be purchased in advanced from Stan Gates or any Lion’s Club member or at the door at the time of the event. You can eat in the cafeteria or take out is available. Help support this community event.

Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast will be held on Monday, May 28 Hamilton Christian Reformed Church fellowship hall. A breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juice will be served from 7 am – 9 am in the church fellowship hall. Proceeds from the breakfast will be for World Renew Disaster Relief and Teen Life on Campus Ministry (S. Nyboer Hamilton Middle School). The breakfast is held rain or shine. Hamilton’s 91st Memorial Day Parade will follow at 9 am. Come out and support this community event and two ministries.

Memorial Day Parade ~ Hamilton’s 91st Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 28. The parade invites all Veterans, combat and non-combat to be part of the parade. Rides will be available. Also business floats, community floats, antique cars, tractors, horses, friendly dogs, bikes and military vehicles and more can be part of this grand parade. Line-up for the parade begins at 8 am at the Hamilton High School. The parade begins at 9 am and precedes down 136th Avenue concluding at Riverside Cemetery with a Memorial Service. Synod Drivers Needed ~ Are you able to help drive Synod delegates and guests during Synod 2018 at Calvin College this
year? Synod will run from June 7 to 15. Van drivers are needed on the June 7, 14 and 15 to bring delegates and guests to and from the airport. Through the week, golf cart drivers are needed when delegates are not in session. For more information and to sign-up contact Jeff at 616.224.0817.
