August 26, 2018

Evening Worship Service tonight will be held at Hamilton Reformed Church. This service will be a time of prayer for our community school and children / youth. There will be no evening service on September 2.

Sr. Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, August 29 at 8:30 am at Hawk’s Nest Restaurant. Come and enjoy a great breakfast and fellowship.

Newsletter ~ Information for the September church newsletter is due today and can be placed in the newsletter box in the narthex.

Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 pm at Berend & Nancy’s home. We will discuss lesson 12, Investing in Heaven.

Mark Your Calendar ~ Our church fall kick-off will be held on Wednesday, September 12 at the Heath Township Park.
The church members will be taking on the Youth Group in a game of kick ball. We will also be having a potluck starting at 5:30 pm. More details coming, but mark your calendar for this great night!

Ladies Guild ~ The autumn session will begin on September 18 at 10 am in the fellowship hall. We will review and continue our study of lesson three. Calendars will be ready after Labor Day. We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The session concludes on December 18th. Any ladies wishing to study with us are most welcome.

Coffee With the Pastor Gets New Life! Beginning Sunday, September 9 from 4 pm – 5:30 pm the Porters will once again be hosting Coffee with the Pastor. We will be serving coffee, some kind of dessert and life giving conversation. Come with your questions about the morning sermon, ideas about how to apply God’s word to your life, ponderings about God’s Word or simply a hearty appetite for dessert and conversation.

RVL Video Study ~ This fall we will be diving into another RVL video series. This meeting will be scheduled for Wednesday nights through the school year, on the opposite nights as Wednesday Night Fellowship. We will be meeting from 6:30 – 7:30 pm on Wednesday nights in the fellowship hall. Childcare will be provided. A full schedule will be released soon.

Profession of Faith Class will be starting soon. We will begin a new round of the Profession of Faith classes for anyone who would like to take the next step in their life with God. If you would like to participate let Pastor Jake know.

Volunteers are needed for the Children’s Worship Ministry this upcoming church season. If you would like to spend time helping our children worship on Sunday morning, please contact Pastor Jake.

Equipped in our #Me Too World ~ Safe Church Ministry invites each Christian Reformed Church to send members of their safe church committees or teams to be equipped at the Safe Church Bi-National Conference, called #Equipped in our #MeToo World, that is taking place September 21-22, 2018 in Grand Rapids. Deadline to register is August 31 and the cost is free for CRC members. Find more information and register at SafeChurchEquipping.com.

Kid’s Korner ~ Liz doesn’t sleep for days preparing for the big spelling bee. How can he participate when he can’t even put two letters together? You can also listen to other Bible stories and do activities and print activity books by going to www.kidscorner.net.

Who Is God? ~ The Bible is about God, but who is God? Join us in studying passages like Revelation 4:11 and Deuteronomy 6:4 to answer some basic questions about the person, nature and character of our almighty God and to discover the biblical foundations for our core Christian beliefs about the God we worship. Christian Reformed Conference Grounds 12253 Lakeshore Dr, invites you to the Annual Auction on Saturday, September 1. The plant auction begins at 9 am. The live auction begins at 10 am in the Worship Center. The funds raised will go towards the youth ministry program and debt reduction. Lunch will be available for purchase in the Worship Center. Many great items to bid on. Join on Monday, September 3 for a traditional Roast Beef dinner served from 5 – 6:30 pm in the Sunshine Room, followed by a Travelogue with John Dykstra at 7 pm in the Worship Center.
