October 14, 2018
Evening Worship Service for the month of October will be held at Hamilton Reformed Church at 6 pm. Tonight Rev. Adam Van Der Stoep will lead the worship service.
Morning Worship ~ Next Sunday morning, October 21, Rev. Sarah (Farkas) Lindstrom, chaplain at Allegan County Jail through Forgotten Man Ministry, will lead us in worship. Pastor Jake will lead us in worship on October 28.
Ladies Guild Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, October 16 at 10 am in the fellowship hall. We will discuss lesson 6, Victory and Celebration.
Youth Group ~ We will be meeting this Wednesday, October 17 at 6:30 pm in the youth room. Our lesson will be on Appearance from I Samuel 16:7 and Matthew 23:25-26. Remember we will be having our church auction and supper on October 24 and we need your hands to help with this project.
Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, October 23 at 7 pm. We will begin a new series on Ephesians, lesson 1. We welcome anyone who would like to join us in this Bible study.
Youth Auction ~ G.R.A.C.E. 360 Auction is planned for Wednesday, October 24 in the fellowship hall. The youth group will be serving a taco bar and ice cream from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. The auction will begin at 6:30 pm. If you have any items (craft items, bake goods, gift certificates, service certificates, etc.) to donate to the auction contact Zena Walters. Proceeds from this event will go towards their mission trip in 2019. Invite a friend to this fun evening.
Trunk-or-Treat will take place on Wednesday, October 31 at the church parking lot. If anyone would like to participate in this fun event contact Zena Walters. You can decorate your car, help pass out candy. The theme for the night is “Light Up for Jesus”. You can use jack-o-lanterns or anything to brighten up this event. If you are unable to participate but would like to help in some way, we can always use candy donations. There will also be indoor activities for the children.
Faith Promise Pledge ~ As we renewed our commitment to our missionaries last week, we have pledged $6,866 through our Faith Promise to support our missionaries financially. Let us remember our missionaries through not only our financial giving but also with our prayer support.
Newsletter ~ Information for the November newsletter is due on October 21 and may be placed in the newsletter box in the narthex.
Hamilton Elementary Released Time will begin November 9. Released Time is teaching the Bible devotionally to public school students during school time but off school premises and with parental permission. This year Released Time will be meeting at Haven Reformed Church. Volunteers for this ministry are needed: 35-40 Small Group Leaders; 4-6 Nursery Helpers; and many prayer partners. If you would consider volunteering for this ministry contact Holly Kroeze, director, at email: ham.el.rt@gmail.com. You can help make a difference in the lives of elementary students.
Love INC Bedding Pantry has seen a sharp increase in requests over the last two months. Consequently the shelves are bare! All sizes of new sheets, pillowcases, blankets and comforters are needed. Your donations can be brought to the offices of Love INC in Hamilton or the Heart-to-Heart Store. Please mark them Bedding Pantry: Beth Zoet. Your support of the Love INC ministry is so much appreciated.
October is Domestic Violence Month ~ Love INC is looking to support the Allegan County Courts who are working to
educate our community with the sad realities of Domestic Violence. If you would like to be involved in this fight please contact Jean Eding at Love INC at jean@loveincnwa.org.
American Red Cross Community Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, October 18 at Hamilton Reformed Church from 12 noon – 6 pm. Bring a photo ID or blood donor card when you come to donate. Donors will have a chance to win one of five gifts cards. Donating blood is safe, simple and makes a difference to patients and their families. To become a blood donor, you must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent) weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. With your help we can meet our lifesaving goals.
Donations ~ The Love INC Heart-to-Heart Resale Store is in need of good quality items that you no longer need. They accept donations of clothing, household items, furniture, toys, games, tools and miscellaneous items. Donations can be brought to the store (4621 – 135th Avenue), Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 5 pm and Saturday, 9:30 – 2 pm. You can also shop the store to find many great bargains. Your support of this ministry here in Hamilton is appreciated.

Hurricane Michael Response ~ World Renew Disaster Response Services is organizing to help U.S. Gulf Coast residents
affected by Hurricane Michael. DRS regional managers are working with local officials and other organizations to begin planning for early assessments and clean-up after the storm. You can support Michael survivors who don’t have the resources to recover from the storm on their own.
