October 28, 2018

Morning Worship ~ The morning worship service will be led by Rev. Jacob Porter. We will begin a series from the book of I John this morning.

Hymn Sing will be held at Hamilton Reformed Church at 6 pm. Nate & Friends will lead the hymn sing. For the month of November the evening services will be held are our church.

Noisy Offering ~ Next Sunday the children will begin collecting your “pocket change” for the Love INC Sponsor-a-Family. They will be receiving a family to purchase Christmas gifts. Your change will make someone’s Christmas a little brighter.

Cadets will be having a “fun night” this Wednesday, October 31. Meet at the clubhouse at 6 pm and we will be enjoying the activities of Trunk-or-Treat night.

Trunk-or-Treat will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from 6 – 7:30 pm at the church parking lot. There will be indoor and outdoor activities for kids. If you would like to decorate your car, hand-out candy or help in any way contact Zena Walters. Let Your Light Shine for Jesus!

Ladies Guild will begin a new Bible study session on Tuesday, November 6. Their new study is entitled The Gift of Christmas. They will meet on November 6 and 20 and December 4 and 18 at 10 am in the fellowship hall. If you would like to join this session in learning more about the first Christmas contact the church office for a study book.

Bible Study will meet on Wednesday, November 7 at 7 pm. We will be discussing the DVD The Mission of Jesus from That The World May Know Ministry.

Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, November 13 at 7 pm at Max & Jan’s home. We will discuss lesson 2 in our study book of Ephesians.

Fellowship Night will be held Wednesday, November 14. A Thanksgiving meal will be served in the fellowship hall from
5:30 – 6:30 pm. Youth Group, Cadets and GEMS will meet at 6:30 pm.

November Observer is available in your church mailbox. For the month of November we will collecting items for the Love INC Food Pantry and Personal Needs Pantry. A list of needed items is included in the newsletter.

Reminder ~ Anything and everything left in the kitchen refrigerators and freezers MUST have a label with name and date. This is a health department regulation. Items not labeled will be thrown out.

Church Items ~ If you need to borrow anything from the church please contact the church office first before taking any items from the church property. Also if you need to reserve the church for an event please reserve the church through the office.

Right to Life of Holland will be having their annual Holiday Auction on Thursday, November 29 from 4 – 8 pm (dinner at
5:30 pm). They are taking donations for this auction through the beginning of November. Donations of handcrafted items, services, gift cards or monetary donations. For more information contact the RTLH office at 616.396.1037.

Kid’s Korner ~ Liz is having a very bad, horrible week when he loses Grandpa’s antique coin, fails a surprise test, and gets

The Tower of Babel ~ What is the purpose of this curious story? Study Genesis 11:1-9 with Groundwork to learn what God’s intervention in a human effort to build a tower to the heavens teaches us about our human motivation and human efforts, our need for God, and God’s ultimate plan for all nations. Family Faith Formation Tip ~ Faith 5 is a simple five-step family faith formation practice that your family can do together. First, share your highs and lows of the day. Then read a Bible verse or story together. Talk about how the Bible reading might relate to your highs and lows, pray for one another’s highs and lows, and bless one another. Faith5 is great for kids of all ages! Check out Faith5.org for more ideas.

World Hunger ~ In communities where poverty is prevalent, men, women and children often struggle to grow enough
food, lack access to clean water, fight to rebuild after a disaster and experience injustice. A devotional for adults and children is available for World Hunger Sunday at the Welcome Table.
