October 7, 2018

Mission Service ~ This morning Rev. Steven Koster from the Back to God Ministries International will lead us in worship as part of our Mission Sunday. Faith Promise Mission Pledge cards will be collected during the service as we recommit our support of our missionaries. We will also celebrate the sacrament of Worldwide Communion with all Christians around the world.

Sunday School will not meet during the morning worship, but will resume next Sunday.

Evening Worship Service for the month of October will be held at Hamilton Reformed Church at 6 pm. Tonight Pastor Jake will lead the worship service. Next Sunday evening Rev. Adam Van Der Stoep will lead the worship time.

Fellowship Night will be held this Wednesday, October 10. A meal of Sloppy Tom’s, Hot Dogs, Baked Beans, Chips, Veggies & Dip and Dessert will be served in the fellowship hall from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Cadets, GEMS and Youth Group will meet at 6:30 pm. The Adults will enjoy a game of Trivia. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a great meal and fun and fellowship. The next Fellowship Night will be on October 24. The Youth Group will be serving the meal and have their auction following.

Youth Group ~ We will be meeting this Wednesday, October 10 at 6:30 pm in the youth room. We will continue our lesson on bullying from Matthew 5:7 in the youth room.

Pulpit ~ Next Sunday, October 14, Rev. Barry Lucas, Director of Love INC, will lead us in morning worship. Rev. Sarah (Farkas) Lindstrom, chaplain at Allegan County Jail through Forgotten Man Ministry, will lead us in worship on October 21. If you have a need during Pastor Jake’s absence feel free to contact any elder or the church office.

Ladies Guild Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, October 16 at 10 am in the fellowship hall. We will discuss lesson 6, Victory and Celebration.

Youth Auction ~ G.R.A.C.E. 360 Auction is planned for Wednesday, October 24 in the fellowship hall. The youth group will be serving a taco bar and ice cream from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. The auction will begin at 6:30 pm. If you have any items (craft items, bake goods, gift certificates, service certificates, etc.) to donate to the auction contact Zena Walters. Proceeds from this event will go towards their mission trip in 2019. Invite a friend to this fun evening.

Trunk-or-Treat will take place on Wednesday, October 31 at the church parking lot. If anyone would like to participate in this fun event contact Zena Walters. You can decorate your car, help pass out candy. The theme for the night is “Light Up for Jesus”. You can use jack-o-lanterns or anything to brighten up this event. If you are unable to participate but would like to help in some way, we can always use candy donations. There will also be indoor activities for the children.

Fund Raiser for Lakeshore Quest Ministry will be held on Monday, October 8 from 4 – 8 pm at Trestle Stop Restaurant in Hamilton. Come and order supper from their menu and support a great ministry. A portion of the sales from this evening will be donated to Lakeshore Quest Ministry which is a non-profit organization that raises money to bring Special Needs Youth and Purple Heart Veterans on a 3-day, once in a life-time, all-inclusive whitetail deer hunt at 2 Hats Ranch in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Fall Hymn Sing will be held on Wednesday, October 10 at 2 pm at Hamilton Reformed Church. Jack Ten Cate will be the song leader with Linda Hemmeke as pianist. Everyone is welcome to come to sing the songs of the faith!

Love INC Bedding Pantry has seen a sharp increase in requests over the last two months. Consequently the shelves are bare! All sizes of new sheets, pillowcases, blankets and comforters are needed. Your donations can be brought to the offices of Love INC in Hamilton or the Heart-to-Heart Store. Please mark them Bedding Pantry: Beth Zoet. Your support of the Love INC ministry is so much appreciated.

October is Domestic Violence Month ~ Love INC is looking to support the Allegan County Courts who are working to
educate our community with the sad realities of Domestic Violence. If you would like to be involved in this fight please contact Jean Eding at Love INC at jean@loveincnwa.org.

Life Chain 2018 is a peaceful, quiet and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing and praying for our
nation to end abortion. It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and that the church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death! Right to Life of Holland Life Chain will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2 – 3 pm in Holland at 16th Street and Fairbanks.

Donations ~ The Love INC Heart-to-Heart Resale Store is in need of good quality items that you no longer need. They accept donations of clothing, household items, furniture, toys, games, tools and miscellaneous items. Donations can be brought to the store (4621 – 135th Avenue), Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 5 pm and Saturday, 9:30 – 2 pm. You can also shop the store to find many great bargains. Your support of this ministry here in Hamilton is appreciated.

Kid’s Korner ~ Spike has a problem with anger. Grandpa tells him a story about another boy who had the same problem, and how he learned to control it. Go to www.kidscorner.net for Bible stories and activities.
