Noisy Offering ~ The ‘Noisy Offering’ for September and October is for World Renew. The Sunday School will be using your pocket change to purchase wheelchairs and farm animals through World Renew. Your change is so much appreciated by the Sunday School children that they can help others through you. For the months of November and December the Sunday School will be sponsoring a family through Love INC with Christmas gifts through the ‘Noisy Offering’.

Trunk-or-Treat ~ As an outreach to the community our church will be hosting Trunk-or-Treat on Tuesday, October 31 from 6 -8 pm in the church parking lot and fellowship hall. Volunteers are needed to help with games, decorate your vehicle and pass out candy. Donations of candy and snacks are needed. If you can help out or have ideas please contact Zena Walters.

Christmas Sponsor-a-Family ~ Love INC is starting the registration for families living in our communities who could use our support this Christmas. Sponsors are greatly needed and appreciated! Who can be a sponsor? Sponsors can be churches, youth teams, Bible study groups, individual families, families joining with other families, workplace teams, businesses and more. We will work to accommodate the amount of money you have available to spend by assigning you the size family that fits your budget. Have you been blessed this year and are you able to bless the lives of others this coming Christmas season? To sign-up as a sponsor please contact Char at Love INC office at 269.751.2533 or email at loveinccvb@frontier.com.

Cake Mixes ~ Love INC in Pullman is in need of 240 cake mixes for their Thanksgiving Baskets. How many boxes of cake mix can our church provide? A collection box is in the fellowship hall until October 29 for your donations. Help fill our donation box.

Reformation 500 Holland ~ Sunday, October 29 will be a Community–wide Worship Service to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. The service will be held at Christ Memorial Church at 5 pm. A massed choir of local singers will complement the congregational singing.

Same Kind of Different As Me is a movie that depicts the life of a homeless drifter (Denver Moore), a wayward husband (Ron Hall) and a forgiving wife (Debbie Hall) and the unforgettable true story that brought the three of them together. As Denver says, “Nobody can help everybody, but everybody can help somebody.” The Holland Rescue Mission will be showing the movie at 7 pm, 7:15 pm and 7:30 pm on Wednesday, October 18 at the AMC Holland 8 Theatre (12270 James Street – Holland). For tickets go to www.hollandrescue.org/events. This is a great opportunity for church members to see the movie and start to dream about how you can make an impact to the “somebodies” in your life. And remember “Whether we’s rich or whether we’s poor, we’s all homeless working our way back home” (Denver Moore).

Through Christ Alone ~ Our salvation comes in and through Jesus Christ, the only mediator we have to reconcile us with God. Join Groundwork as they explore I Timothy 2:1-7 and 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 to explore the sources of this Reformation teaching and recognize how our own thoughts and behaviors threaten to undermine it even today. Listen at GroundworkOnline.com and subscribe to Groundwork’s weekly emails for future episodes.
