Judy Overbeek will be having total knee replacement on Monday, October 27 at Holland Hospital.
Bruce & Betty Eding will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on October 29.
Dale Eding’s membership was received from Covenant Hope Church in Battle Creek. Welcome to the HCRC family. We look forward to receiving Carol’s membership from her former church in the Detroit area soon.
The membership of Rev. John & Kathy Byker and Alison Byker was transferred to Bethel CRC in Fulton, Illinois. We wish them God’s richest blessing in their new place of worship and service.
We extend sympathy to Kirk & Sue Tyler family in the death of Kirk’s mother, Dona Tyler who passed away on October 20 at the age of 83. The visitation (1 – 2 pm) and memorial service (2 pm) will be held on November 3 at First United Methodist Church in Holland.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Community Pig Roast. We had so many volunteers and were so blessed to have such a great turnout by the community and our church family. All donations received were for Sandi Nyboer’s Teen Life on Campus Ministry. The donation total was $657.19. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! ~The Renewal Lab Team

Youth Supper & Auction will be held on Wednesday, November 12. Supper will be available from 5:30 – 6:30 pm with the Auction beginning at 6:30 pm. Reformation Sunday ~ Today is Reformation Sunday, a day we celebrate creative Christ-following, meeting the challenges of God’s mission with bold hope. Together with Christian Reformed Home and World Missions and our missionary partners – Jon & Melissa Barlow, Rev. Mike & Gina Johnson, Rev. Ruth Lemmen, Rev. Jimmy & Doris Lin, Sandi & Mark Nyboer, Rev.’s Gil & Joyce Suh, and Rev. Ray & Esther Vander Laan let us share the good news of God’s grace.
Noisy Offering ~ Through the Sunday Schools “noisy offering” we have collected $90 and have been able to purchase a Beehive to send to Tanzania and a Literacy Book Set for the children in Honduras. During the months of November and December our “noisy offering” will help purchase Christmas gifts for our Adopt-a-Family through Love INC.
Ladies Guild Bible Study will meet Tuesday, November 4 in the Council Room. We will disucss lesson 4 – Onward and Outward in our study books.
Small Group Bible Study will meet Tuesday, November 11 at 7 pm at Royal Park Attrium. We will discuss lesson 15 – Saying Goodbye Acts 20 and 21.
Youth Auction ~ Our Youth Group will be having an auction on Wednesday, November 12 to benefit their mission trip in June of 2015 to Logan, West Virginia. If you have any items to donate, please contact Zena Walters. Items can be bake goods, gifts cards, crafts, etc. Every item helps our auction.
Newsletter ~ The November newsletter articles are due today and may be placed in the newsletter box in the narthex.
The GATE After School Center has not opened its doors for the 2014/2015 season as of yet, due to lack of area support. Representatives from the four area church will be meeting to discuss vision and pray for what God has planned for this ministry. Please join us in praying for the GATE and the middle school students that can be influenced by this ministry.
Church Kitchen Reminders ~ If you leave food in the church kitchen refrigerators these items must be labeled and dated. Labels are available in the kitchen. Items not labeled will be discarded. If you use the church kitchen it is your responsibility to clean up after your event. There are several dishes and an Enfamil pack on the kitchen counter that may belong to someone – please check if these items may be yours – unclaimed items will be donated to Love INC.
Adult Foster Care Relief Staff Openings ~ The Holland Deacons’ Conference has openings for part-time and substitute relief staff positions at My Brother’s and My Sister’s Houses, for their adult foster care homes in Holland. Celebrate Life Auction ~ Come and support Right to Life of Holland Area by bidding on over 300 great items on Wednesday, November 5, 10 am – 5 pm and Thursday, November 6, 9 am – 7 pm. You can bid on items by stopping at the Right to Life office (100 Waverly Road Holland) until 5 pm on each day or place your bid by calling 616.396.1037. Trunk or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6:30 – 8pm at Haven Reformed Church. Sign-up in the fellowship hall if you plan to decorate your car trunk and hand-out candy. Any questions call Jill Deters at 616.886.0151.
Fanning the Flame Praying Together for God’s Mission will be held on Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8 at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Holland. This event is interdenominational designed for church members, students, leaders and pastors. See the information brochures at the Welcome Table.
