OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Pray for those of our church family who are struggling with health issues, personal struggles, loneliness and spiritual issues.

This week many states in the south suffered various natural disasters through fire and tornadoes.  Pray that these people may know that we have a God who cares for each of us and gives us strength to face each day.

OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Morning Service ~ This morning Pastor Jake will lead us in worship as we take our “Advent” journey that leads us to Bethlehem where the “Hope” of the world was born.

Evening Service will be held tonight at Bentheim Reformed Church at 6 pm.  Down Home Gospel Ministry will give a concert.  Refreshments follow the service.

Christmas Program ~ The Sunday School children will present the program, “The Wonder of the Shepherds” next Sunday, December 11 at 9:30 am.

Sunday School we will be having practice for our program on Saturday, December 10 from 10 – 11 am.  Following practice a pizza lunch will be available.

Christmas Caroling ~ If you would like to go caroling next Sunday, December 11 meet at Hamilton Reformed Church at 4:30 pm to ride their bus and carol to some area homes.

Next Sunday evening, December 11, Mr. Maxwell Nkansah will lead us in worship at 6 pm.

Congregational meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at 6:30 pm.  We will be voting on the General Budget for 2017.  A copy of this budget is available in your church mailbox.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, absentee ballots are available from any elder.  All professing members, 18 years and older, are encouraged to attend.

December 4, 2016

Ladies Guild Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, December 6 at 10 am in the fellowship hall.  We will study lesson 6, Understanding Jesus.  At our meeting of December 20 we will be having our Christmas luncheon at Hawk’s Nest Restaurant.

Christmas Program ~ Next Sunday, December 11, the Sunday School children will present the Christmas program, “The Wonder of the Shepherds”.  Join us at 9:30 am for this special program given by our children and discover the Good Shepherd.

Fellowship Night will be held on Wednesday, December 14.  A Christmas dinner (ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, vegetable, salad and dessert) will be served from 5:30 – 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall.  The congregational meeting will be held at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary.  The agenda for the meeting includes voting on the proposed general budget for 2017.  A copy of this budget is available in your church mailbox.  All professing members, 18 years and older, are encouraged to attend.  If you are unable to attend, absentee ballots are available from any elder.

Cadets we will be meeting on Wednesday, December 14 at 6:30 pm at the clubhouse for our Christmas party.  Mark your calendar.

Christmas Cards ~ Remember our missionaries and home-bound church family with Christmas greetings.   Cards may be placed in the special mailboxes in the fellowship hall through December 11.

Christmas Card Volunteers are needed to deliver Christmas cards to our church family.  If you would be willing to deliver a package of cards and bring Christmas greetings to some of our home-bound friends let Lori know in the church office.

Christmas at Evergreen Commons ~ Celebrate the season with a delicious meal and the music of “Christmas Gifts!”  This musical will take place on Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7 at 11:30 am – tickets include lunch and show and Thursday, December 8 at 6 pm is a dinner and show.  For tickets call 616.355.5120.

Christmas Concert featuring “International Christian Pianist” Jim Hendricks will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at 2 pm at Hamilton Reformed Church.  An incredibly gifted pianist, Jim has served as Professor of Music at Chicago State University and has performed on ABC, CBS, TBN, and PAX.  He was also on tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and made three appearances at the Crystal Cathedral.  He has competed in numerous international piano competitions and has made thirteen piano recordings.  A free-will offering will be received at the concert and many of his recordings will be available for purchase.
