OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Thank You to everyone who came Wednesday night to support the Youth Group.  You helped us raise $1,077 towards our mission trip in June to New York.

Bob Boes, Kris Porter’s grandfather, is struggling with health issues and is at Lakeside Vista, Building 4, Room 9.  Continue to pray for him and others of our church family.

 

OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Morning Service ~ This morning Pastor Jake will lead us in worship.

Sunday School Classes will  meet today.  Pre-K – 5th grade will be dismissed during the worship service; Middle School and High School will meet in the Youth Room following worship.

Fellowship Team will meet following the morning service.

Evening Service will be held at Hamilton Reformed Church at 6 pm.  Mr. Ron Lugten will lead us in worship.

Conference ~ A series led by Rev. Ray Vander Laan will be held on Friday, March 18, 7 – 9 pm and Saturday, March 19, 9 am – 4pm and Sunday, March 19, 9:30 am worship service.  To register go to eventbrite.com.

Fellowship Night will be held on Wednesday, March 22.   We will be having our annual Chili Cook-Off and Bread Bake-Off.  If you would like to enter your chili or bread sign-up at the Welcome Table.  Trophies will be awarded to the “best of the best”.  Join us for this fun-filled night.

Town Hall meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 pm following the fellowship meal.  At this meeting you will be updated on the church and ask questions.

General Fund Offering for March 5  was $6,669.00.  We give praise to God for his faithfulness to HCRC.

Requested & Expanded Announcements

Offering ~ A special offering will be taken on March 19 and April 2 at the morning service to help fund

Pastor Jake & Kris’ trip to Israel with Ray Vander Laan and That The World May Know Ministry.  Pastor Jake & Kris will be taking this trip May 25 – June 9.

March Fellowship Night will be held on Wednesday, March 22 and will be the annual Chili Cook-Off and Bread Bake-Off.  If you would like to enter your favorite chili or bread sign-up at the Welcome Table by March 19.  The tasting of the entries will start at 5:30 pm in the fellowship hall.  A church town-hall meeting will follow the event.

Cadets we will be meeting on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 pm at the Cadet Clubhouse.

That The World May Know Weekend Series, will be held on Friday, March 17 (7 – 9 pm), Saturday, March 18 (9 am – 4 pm), and Sunday morning service, March 19 at 9:30 am at our church led by Rev. Ray Vander Laan.  If you would like attend this series you can register at eventbrite.com.

Ladies Guild Bible Study will begin their Spring Session on Tuesday, March 21 at 10 am at the church in the Fellowship Hall.  This will be a six session study titled, “Jesus, His Triumph Over Death”.  Guild members will find the new study books and the spring calendar in your mailbox.

Bible Study ~ Ladies would you like to be part of a Bible Study? You are invited to the Spring session of Ladies Guild Bible Study which begins on Tuesday, March 21 at 10 am at the church in the fellowship hall.  Come and join us for fellowship and learning or just come visit.  We meet the first and third Tuesday of the month at 10 am.  We will be studying the book, “Jesus, His Triumph Over Death”.  If you need a study book contact the church office.

Family Bowling ~ The church bowling night will soon be happening.   A $10 ticket includes two games of bowling and shoe rental.  This event will take place on Friday, March 31 at 7:30 pm at Zeeland Bowling Lanes.  Sign-up in the fellowship hall.

The Cold & Flu season is here.  Please feel free to bring a box of tissues, available in the narthex, to your seat during the service.  Please also dispose of your used tissues.

Noisy Offering ~ For the months of March and April our “pocket change” will go towards the Hand2Hand Ministry.  Through this ministry volunteers assemble food bags for children to take home so that they have food for the weekend.  This ministry helps children in the Hamilton school system in a confidential way and also in many other school districts.  Hunger hurts for children of all ages.   Thank you for giving of your “pocket change” so children do not have to go hungry.

Release Time for Hamilton Elementary Schools will meet on Friday, March 17 from 8:30 – 2:30 pm at our church.  This day will conclude their season of gathering the elementary children to hear a Bible story.  This ministry also provides a Bible to children who do not have a Bible.  Thank you to Holly Kroeze who is the director of this ministry and the many volunteers.

Digital Library ~Through Tears to Joy:  Devotions for Lent” is available free to all in the CRC through the Digital Library (crcna.org/Library).  This collection of devotions reflects on the meaning of Jesus’ suffering and the meaning of suffering in the world.

Prayer Service ~ The Hamilton Reformed Church will be hosting a Prayer Service for Crops and Industry on Sunday, March 26 at 6 pm.  Everyone is invited to join for this service in which we call upon God’s blessing for a new season of planting and harvest and for an ongoing blessing upon our local and global economy.

Home Build Project ~ Be part of a home-building project in West Virginia!  Churches in the Holland and Zeeland area are working in partnership with World Renew DRS to build a new house “foundation to finish” for a disabled veteran in Caldwell, West Virginia who lost his home in the devastating floods of June 2016.  The project begins April 17 and will finish by May 19.  The planning group is actively recruiting church groups and interested persons to join in this Holland / Zeeland partnership project.  Skilled as well as general labor volunteers who can serve a week or more during that period are needed.  Accommodations will be a in a local church.  While the building materials are provided, donations are needed to cover travel and food expenses for those who serve.  Call Dale Compagner 616.893.5750 for more information.

Pray for Inspire 2017 ~  Inspire 2017 is a conference to connect people from across the 1,000+ churches in the Christian Reformed Church for three days of worship, workshops, speakers and conversation.  As we plan and prepare for this event happening August 3-5 in Detroit, Michigan, please join us in praying for the event and all who will attend.  This week, please pray for safety at Inspire 2017, and for the health of all involved, freeing people on God’s leading at the event, rather than on pain or fear.

Love INC Fundraiser will be held on Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, April 11 at Crazy Horse Restaurant in Holland.  The restaurant is donating 20% of their lunch and dinner profits to Love INC.  Also Johnson Controls INC of Holland is going to match every dollar raised!  Come out and support this great fundraiser!
