OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Morning Service ~ This morning Rev. Ray Vander Laan will lead us in worship in continuation with the weekend series.  Rev. Vander Laan will also lead our morning service on March 26.

Special Offering will be received this morning for Pastor Jake & Kris’ trip to Israel from May 25 – June 9.  You will also have the opportunity to give to this trip on April 2.

Sunday School Classes will  meet today.  Pre-K – 5th grade will be dismissed during the worship service.

Evening Service will be held at Hamilton Reformed Church at 6 pm.  Rev. Tom Dekker will lead the worship service.

Ladies Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, March 21 in the fellowship hall.  We will discuss lesson 1 – Real Greatness from our study book, “Jesus His Triumph Over Death”.

Fellowship Night will be held on Wednesday, March 22.   We will be having our annual Chili Cook-Off and Bread Bake-Off.  If you would like to enter your chili or bread, sign-up at the Welcome Table.  Trophies will be awarded to the “best of the best”.  Join us for this fun-filled night.

Town Hall meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 pm following the fellowship meal.  At this meeting you will be updated on the church and be able to ask questions.

General Fund Offering for March 12  was $1,808.00.

March 19, 2017

Offering ~ A special offering will be taken at today’s morning service for the Israel trip for Pastor Jake & Kris through That The World May Know Ministry with Rev. Ray Vander Laan.  They will be taking this trip from May 25 – June 9.   There will also be another offering for this trip on April 2.

March Fellowship Night will be held on Wednesday, March 22  and  will be the annual Chili Cook-Off and Bread Bake-Off.  If you would like to enter your favorite chili or bread, sign-up at the Welcome Table by March 19.  The fun-filled evening will start at 5:30 pm in the fellowship hall.  A church town-hall meeting will follow the event at 6:30 pm.

Cadets we will be meeting on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 pm at the Cadet Clubhouse.  We will also be meeting on April 12 which will be our last meeting of the season.

Ladies Guild Bible Study will begin their Spring Session on Tuesday, March 21 at 10 am at the church in the Fellowship Hall.  This will be a six session study titled, “Jesus, His Triumph Over Death”.  We will be discussing lesson 1 ~  Real Greatness.   All ladies are welcome to this Bible study that meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month.  If you need a study book, contact the church office.

Next Sunday morning, March 26, we will have the celebration of Holy Communion.  A thank offering will be received for Faith Promise Mission Support.

Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, March 28 at 7 pm at the home of Joyce Schaap.

Family Bowling ~ The church bowling night will soon be happening.   A $10 ticket includes two games of bowling and shoe rental.  This event will take place on Friday, March 31 at 7:30 pm at Zeeland Bowling Lanes.  Sign-up in the fellowship hall.

Noisy Offering ~ For the months of March and April our “pocket change” will go towards the Hand2Hand Ministry.  Through this ministry volunteers assemble food bags for school children to take home so that they have food for the weekend.  This ministry helps children in the Hamilton school system in a confidential way and also in many other school districts.  Hunger hurts for children of all ages.   Thank you for giving of your “pocket change” so children do not have to go hungry.

Prayer Service ~ The Hamilton Reformed Church will be hosting a Prayer Service for Crops and Industry on Sunday, March 26 at 6 pm.  Everyone is invited to join for this service in which we call upon God’s blessing for a new season of planting and harvest and for an ongoing blessing upon our local and global economy.

Digital Library ~The Heidelberg Catechism 450th Anniversary Edition” is available free to all in the CRC through the Digital Library (crcna.org/Library).  This edition offers a fresh and accurate translation of the historic confession that has become an anchor for faith for generations of Christians.

Home Build Project ~ Help build a house in West Virginia!  Ken, a 60-year-old disabled veteran, lost his house in a flood last June.  Churches in classis Holland and Zeeland are pooling their time, talent and treasure to build a new house for Ken in partnership with World Renew.  Skilled and general labor volunteers are needed for a week or more between April 17 and May 19.  Your accommodations are in a local church and the building materials are provided.  Donations are needed to cover travel and food expenses for those who serve.  Call Dale Compagner at 616.893.5750 for more information.

Love INC Fundraiser will be held on Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, April 11 at Crazy Horse Restaurant in Holland.  The restaurant is donating 20% of their lunch and dinner profits to Love INC.  Also Johnson Controls INC of Holland is going to match every dollar raised!

Prayers Needed for Rev. Chris & Jen Timmer (pastor at Dunningville Reformed Church).  Their two boys, Sam and Kai, each have health issues and Jen was recently diagnosis with breast cancer and is awaiting surgery.  The Timmer family has given permission that their blog site be shared.  For updates you can go to timmerfamilyadoptionblogspot.com.  Please keep this family in your prayers.  God can move mountains.
