OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Pastor Jake & Kris left Thursday afternoon for their trip to Israel with the high school group from Holland Christian and Rev. Ray Vander Laan.  Remember this group in prayer as they are refreshed, renewed and  walk the steps of Jesus.  Pastor Jake & Kris will be returning on June 9.

Congratulations to Andrew Dykstra, Sarah Linkous and Brandon Tincher who graduated on Thursday evening from Hamilton High School.

OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today ~ This morning Mr. Maxwell Nkansah will lead us in worship.  Mr. Nkansah was born in Akwapim region in Ghana and lived there until he was 23 and now has lived in the United States for 26 years.  He is married to Jennifer and they have three children – Samantha (8), Sophiah (5) and James (2).  He is in his third year at Western Theological Seminary.  His main interest is pastoral care and family life and his focus is inter-generational relationships within the family.  In the last 29-years he has worked in hospitality management on college campuses in the eatern part of the country.  He enjoys meeting and developing relationships and serving people.  Welcome Mr. Maxwell Nkansah to Hamilton CRC.

Evening Service will be held at 6 pm at Hamilton Reformed Church.   Rev. Tom Dekker will lead the worship service.

Pancake Breakfast Volunteers ~ If you have signed up to help with the Pancake Breakfast tomorrow morning, please be ready to help and at church by 6:30 pm.  We could still use a few more willing hands – sign up at the Welcome Table.

Memorial Day ~ Join in on the Memorial Day activities of Hamilton tomorrow – May 29.  A pancake breakfast will be served from 7 – 9 am in the church fellowship hall.  The Memorial Day parade will begin at 9 am and precede down 136th Avenue with a memorial service at Riverside Cemetery.  Instructions for parade participants are included on the back of this page.

Pentecost  Sunday morning worship service will be led by Rev. Sarah Farkas who is chaplain of the Allegan  County Jail through Forgotten Man Ministries.

Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, June 13 at 7 pm at Joyce Schaap’s home.  We will discuss lesson 5 from Psalm 51.

Church Movie Nights for the summer will be June 14 & 28; July 12 & 26; August 9 & 23.  Movie titles will be revealed soon and will be shown in the fellowship hall.  Looking forward to this new endeavor with everyone.

History Day ~ Hamilton Reformed Church will be hosting a history day on Wednesday, May 31 in their fellowship hall, from 2 pm – 9 pm as they celebrate their 130th birthday this year.  Come and go as you please, but please come and join the celebration of God’s faithfulness to Hamilton Reformed and the faithfulness of our forefathers.  Come see the displays of artifacts, photos, videos and more.

Pray for Inspire 2017 ~ Inspire 2017 is a conference to connect people from across the 1,000+ churches in the Christian Reformed Church for three days of worship, workshops, speakers and conversation.  As we plan and prepare for this event, happening August 3-5 in Detroit, Michigan, please join us in praying for the event and all who will attend.  This week, please pray for breakout speakers in sessions about innovations, technology, and creativity ministry.  Pray for them as they prepare and plan their sessions, that God will guide their decisions and topics.  Pray also for those who will attend, that they will learn and be inspired and refreshed by the shared ideas.

Christian Reformed Conference Grounds welcomes Voices of Victory on Monday, May 29 as part of a Memorial Day concert in the Worship Center.  The concert will begin at 7 pm, doors will open at 6:30 pm. No tickets are needed for the concert, however a free-will offering will be taken to help defray the cost of the music ministry.  A delicious slow-roasted beef dinner, complete with all the sides and beverage, will be available in the Sunshine Room from 5 – 6:30 pm for only $8.50.  The Conference Grounds has plenty availability for camping for our Start of Summer week, June 3-10 and Orientation week, June 10-17.  Both of these weeks are a great time to be here which are a bit slower, quieter pace but still loads of fun!  We will have limited store, restaurant, pool and activity hours for these weeks, along with a special discounted rate!  Check it out under the camping tab at www.crcg.org or call the office at 616.842.4478.

Youth Group ~ Remember to pray for the Hamilton CRC Youth Group has they are making their final plans for the Mission Trip to Staten Island, New York, June 18-24.  A send-off prayer will be held Sunday, June 18 at 4:50 am before they leave at 5 am.  A list of the group is available in the newsletter.
