Rev. Ruth Lemmen is being installed and commissioned this morning at the Church of the Servant CRC in Grand Rapids for her work in Asia. Ruth is anticipating leaving on September 16. Remember her needs in prayer.
OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS
Morning Worship Service will be led by Rev. Ron De Young. Pastor Ron will be continuing thes series on Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life. This morning we will reflect on Serving. On September 14 Pastor Ron will reflect on our Spiritual Discipline of Giving.
Community Service ~ Our evening service tonight will be at Hamilton Reformed Church at 6 pm. Rev. Tom Dekker will lead us in praying for our schools. Soon our children will return to the school room and our young adults may already have started college. We want to pray for them as the school year begins and continue through the school year.
Service ~ Next Sunday morning, August 31, our morning service will be led by Seminarian Shelby Gemmen.
Council Update ~ At the August 18 Council meeting, the Council decided to present to the congregation for approval the single nomination of Mr. Jacob Porter for consideration to receive a call to become the next pastor of Hamilton CRC. A special congregational meeting will be held September 7 at 11 am to vote on this proposal. Anyone who is a professing member, 18 years and older, is asked to attend this meeting. If you are unable to attend, absentee ballots are available from any elder. A profile of Jacob Porter is available in your church mailbox.

Sunday School for all ages will begin September 7. We are still in need of teachers to helpers and someone to help with childcare during the Adult Sunday School following the morning service. If you would like to know about these ministry opportunities contact Dawn Driesenga or Sandy Lemmen
Newsletter ~ The September newsletter articles are due today and may be placed in the newsletter box in the narthex.
Small Group Bible Study will be held on Tuesday, September 9 at the Royal Park Atrium. There will be a potluck at 6:30 pm and a time of fellowship. If you are interested in joining this Small Group please contact Joyce Schaap.
Ladies Guild Bible Study will begin their autumn study session on Tuesday, September 16 at 10 am at church in the Council Room. This will be a seven session study titled “Paul, to Live is Christ” and will conclude on December 16. We will meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Guild members will find the new study books and the autumn session calendar in their mailboxes. All ladies, of all ages, are welcome to join us in fellowship and learning. There is no preparation required. If you need a study book contact Naomi Olson.
Lakeshore Little People has employment opportunities for teacher assistants for their Christian Childcare at their new site location in Hamilton. Teacher assistants are needed for school-age children in Kindergarten – 5th grade. Morning shifts (6-9 am) and/or afternoon shifts (3-6 pm) are available. Love INC Baby Ministry at Allegan Wesleyan Church is in need of diapers (size 4 and 5), baby wipes, shampoo and formula. If you feel led to donate baby items to this ministry, your donation may be brought to the Love INC Office in Hamilton, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 3 pm.
Parenting Conference ~ Our children are precious, they are a reward from the Lord! Attending the 2014 IRBC Conference on Parenting with Dr. Tedd Tripp at the Calvin Covenant Fine Arts Center on September 5-6 will provide to be a worthwhile investment of your time. Join Positive Options, a service of Lakeshore Pregnancy Center, at Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, in Holland on Tuesday, August 26. Purchase frozen yogurt any time between 11 am and 11 pm and a portion of the day’s profits will benefit Positive Options. Staff will be available between 6 pm and 8 pm to answer questions and to share with you the amazing things God is doing in the lives of clients.
World Missions ~ Prayer for International Teachers. Many missionaries serve as teachers around the world. Classes recently started at many of these international schools. Pray for a smooth transition for the students and teachers.
