Zena Walters had surgery this past Thursday and the doctors were able to remove all the tumors.  She will be at Spectrum Hospital most of this week.  Pray for her and the recovery.

OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Morning Service ~ This morning Pastor Jake will lead us in worship in the series of Stories of our Childhood from Exodus  Following the service join us for a time of fellowship; coffee, juice and cookies are available in the fellowship hall.

Church Cook-Out will be held following the morning worship today at Pastor Jake and Kris’ backyard.  Bring a dish to share; meat , table service and beverage will be provided.  Join for this time with your church family.

Tonight at 6 pm we will have a time of prayer for our community children as they return to the classroom.  Ms. Amy Klanderman will lead us in this time of prayer.

Community Service on September 4 will be held at Diamond Springs Wesleyan Church.  The service will be held outdoors, weather permitting.  Bring lawn chairs and join for this service.

Evening Services ~ We will be joining with Hamilton Reformed Church for evening services of September 11, 18 and 25 at Hamiton Reformed.  The services will be held at 6 pm.

Newsletter ~ Articles for the September church newsletter are due today and may be placed in the newsletter box in the narthex.

Church Cook-Out ~ Pastor Jake & Kris will be hosting another Church Cook-Out today following the morning service in their backyard.  Bring a dish to share; meat, table service and beverage will be provided.  Come and enjoy a summer church gathering.

Prayers for Our Schools will be held tonight at 6 pm at our church.  Let us join as a community to lift up prayers for our schools and children for the school season.  Ms. Amy Klanderman will lead us in worship.

Small Group Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, September 6 at 7 pm at the Royal Park Atrium.  Our lesson is on pages 75 and 76, Lesson 7, Episode 1.

Cadets ~ We will be having our Cadet Kick-off on Wednesday, September 7.  We will meet at the clubhouse at 6:30 pm.  All boys in grades 1st – 8th are invited to be part of this program.

Auction ~ The High School Youth Group will be hosting a dinner and auction on October 26.  If you have items (craft items, services, gift cards, canned goods, baked goods) or any unique item to donate to the auction, please contact Zena Walters.  The youth group is working towards the New York Mission Trip in 2017.  Help support this mission project for our youth.

Living Proof a Beth Moore Simulcast will be held at Community Church of Douglas on Saturday, September 17 from 10 am – 5:15 pm.  Tickets are $15 which includes lunch.  For tickets call the church office at 269.857.1492.   This simulcast will also be held at Community Reformed Church in Zeeland on Saturday, September 17, 10:15 am – 5:15 pm.  Worship will be led by Travis Cottrell.  Cost is $20 and includes lunch or $15 without lunch.  For more information and for tickets go to www.communityreformed.org or stop by Community Reformed Church.

Learn to Witness!  Do you want to know how to share Christ with others?  Join us for a free Wordless Book training at the Haven Reformed Church (4691 Oak St., Hamilton) in the Heritage Room.  We will meet on Wednesday, September 28 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.  This class (for 12-year-olds and up) will be taught by Bobbie Vote from Child Evangelism Fellowship, but the emphasis is on leading all ages to Christ!  You will learn how to witness, what verse to use, and have a chance to practice that night.  Bring your Bible and a friend and please come!  For questions, call Bobbie at 269.673.6899.  RSVP to Haven Church at 269.751.7321, space will be made available even if you are unable to RSVP.

Christian Reformed World Missions opportunities and needs for prayers

Serve a year in El Salvador ~ Do you want hands-on mission experience?  World Missions has many opportunities to serve with partner ministries in El Salvador.  Choose from youth ministry, communications, leadership training or several other options that fit your gifts.  Contact Lisa Sochacki for (lsochacki@crcna.org) for more information.

Help a Missionary Family in Tijuana ~ James & Barbara Lee, a CRWM missionary couple living in Tijuana, Mexico are looking for a volunteer to help with home-school and child care for their children from October 1 – November 3.  Their children are ages 9, 5 and 4.  Apply or find out more at crwm.org/homeschool.

Prayer Safari in Uganda ~ The annual Global Prayer Safari hosted by Christian Reformed World Missions will take place February 2-13 in Uganda this year.  This trip is meant to strengthen, encourage and demonstrate Christ’s love to ministry leaders, government officials and business people in Uganda through prayer and relationship building.

Serve in the Dominican Republic or Haiti ~ This winter, build cross-cultural partnerships and get a Service and Learning Team together from your church to work with local church members in the Dominican Republic or Haiti to construct a small church building or ministry center.  Contact Bill Thornburg (bthornburg@crcna.org) to begin planning your trip.
