Today we remember the 9/11 attacks that happened 15 years ago, but we also remember so many tragedies that happen each day. We remember that we have a God who is in control of this world; we just need to trust his plan.
Harriet Meiste will celebrate her 89th birthday on Thursday, September 15. Remember her with a card or visit for this special day. (Lakeside Vista, Friesland Haus, Room 7, 340 W. 40th Street – Holland, MI 49423).
OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS
Morning Service ~ This morning Pastor Jake will lead us in worship in the series of Stories of our Childhood on Moses. Following the morning service join with your church family for a time of fellowship in the fellowship hall. Coffee, juice and cookies will be served.
Sunday School begins this morning. Pre-K – 5th grade will be dismissed during the worship service to hear a Bible story and activity in the Worship Center Room. Middle & High School will meet in the Youth Room following morning worship. We give thanks for our children’s leaders – Dawn Driesenga, Michele Dykstra, Sandy Lemmen, Courtny Schierbeek; Helpers: Amber Childs, Tricia Kloosterman, Amy Nyboer, Denise Schierbeek; Youth Teacher – Dave Visser.
Tonight at 6 pm we will be worshiping at Hamilton Reformed Church. Adam Van Der Stoep will lead us in worship. We will be worshiping at Hamilton Reformed Church for the month of September. October they will be joining with us at our church for evening worship.
Fellowship Nights will begin this Wednesday, September 14 in the church fellowship hall. The supper menu is hambugers and hot dogs on the grill along with salad and dessert.

Cadets will begin their season on Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30 pm in the clubhouse. All boys in grades 1st – 8th are invited to be part of this group. We will meet on the second and fourth Wednesday evening following the fellowship night supper. Together we will have a Bible lesson and work on merit badges and crafts. Throughout the season there will be special events. Join us for this great group.
Evening Worship Services for September 11, 18 and 25 will be held at Hamilton Reformed Church. The services will begin at 6 pm. Join us as we worship with this church family. Our church will be hosting the evening services for the month of October.
Building Project Offering ~ In an effort to reach our matching building project goal of $20,000, we will have a special second offering on September 18, 25 and October 2.
Ladies Guild Bible Study will begin their autumn study session on Tuesday, September 20 at 10 am at the church Fellowship Hall. This will be a seven session study titled “Jesus, His Powerful Life” and will conclude on December 20. Guild members will find the new study books and the autumn calendar in their mailboxes. All ladies of all ages are invited and most welcome to join us in fellowship and learning. We meet the first and third Tuesday of the month at 10 am. There is no preparation required. If you need a study book, contact Lori at the church office at 751.8877 for details.
Cookies are always needed for Sunday morning fellowship time. If you would like to donate home-made or store-bought cookies just place them in the church kitchen by Sunday morning and label them “Sunday fellowship”. Cookies should not contain peanut butter or any type of nuts.
Heart-to-Heart Resale Store in Hamilton is always in need of good quality used items of clothing, household items, games, toys and miscellaneous items. Donations can be brought to the store (4621 – 135th ), Monday – Thursday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm; Friday – 9:30 am – 5 pm; and Saturday, 9:30 am – 2 pm. Also take a shopping trip to this store and find some great deals. The Heart-to-Heart Store serves the community by providing quality and affordable items. Profit from the sales supports the ministry of Love In the Name of Christ.
Volunteers ~ Has God blessed you with compassion for people struggling with life? Is he calling you to reach His people? Do you have an hour a week that you can give back to God? Love INC is offering Basic Training on September 19 and 26 at their Hamilton office from 6 pm – 8 pm. This training will equip you to understand “why they do…” and how God calls us to serve them following Jesus’ example. Please join us to explore your possible commitment to Love INC or just come for the training to use in the community. Concert ~ The Christian Reformed Conference Grounds is excited to welcome LEGACY FIVE in concert on Saturday, October 8 at 7 pm in the new Worship Center. This group has been making their mark in the Southern Gospel world since 2000. They have been featured in many Gaither and Friends Homecoming videos and appeared on a host of TV networks and magazines. Reserved seating tickets for this concert are now on sale! Living Proof a Beth Moore Simulcast will be held at Community Church of Douglas on Saturday, September 17 from 10 am – 5:15 pm. Tickets are $15 which includes lunch. For tickets call the church office at 269.857.1492. This simulcast will also be held at Community Reformed Church in Zeeland on Saturday, September 17, 10:15 am – 5:15 pm.
