OUR CHURCH FAMILY

We extend sympathy to Judi Rice and family in the death of their father and grandfather, Larry Rice, who passed away on Monday.  The funeral was held yesterday in Columbus, Ohio.  Remember this family in prayer.

Connor Driesenga suffered a broken wrist and arm in a quad accident.  Keep him in prayer for complete and speedy healing.

OUR CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Worship Service ~ This morning Pastor Jake will lead us in worship as we learn from Matthew 5, The Beautitudes.  This evening we will continue with series of Our World Belongs to God using stanza 13.

Tonight following our evening service everyone is invited to Pastor Jake & Kris’ house for coffee.

Ladies Guild Bible Study will meet Tuesday, April 21 at 10 am in the Council Room.  We will discuss lesson 3, Doing Good for Jesus’ Sake.

Sunday School classes will meet this morning.  Pre-K – 4th grade will be dismissed during the morning service and 5th – 12th grade will meet following morning worship.

Fellowship Night will be held on Wednesday, April 22.   The main dish will be Lasanga and garlic bread.  Everyone is asked to bring a side dish (salad or dessert) to make the meal complete.  The supper will be served from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

Cadets will be having their year-end Auction on Wednesday, April 22 at 6:30 pm at the clubhouse.  The Cadets will be using the points they earned through the year to bid on items.

Installation Service for our newly selected elders Tom Tucker and Paul Nyboer and deacons Paul Kloosterman, Scott Nyboer and Matt Vander Bok will be held on Sunday, May 3 at the 9:30 am service.  Our retring elders are Fred Mireles and Jerry Prince and deacons Dean Eding, Kurt Klinkers and Doug Wabeke.

April 19, 2015

 Ladies Guild Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, April 21 at 10 am.  We will discuss lesson 3 “Doing Good For  Jesus’ Sake”.  All ladies are welcome to join us for this study on Titus and Philemon.

Small Group Bible Study will be held on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 pm at the Royal Park Atrium.  We will discuss lesson 2 – “Who Is the One True God”.

Ministry Offering ~ Our ministry offering this month is for Christian Reformed Home Missions.  Your gifts helps Home Missions work to renew the North American community through the power of the Gospel.   Your offering may be placed in any offering, mark your giving envelope “Home Missions”.

May Newsletter ~ Articles for the May Observer are due next Sunday, April 26 and may be placed in the  newsletter box in the narthex.

Ministry Opportunity ~ Love INC is in need of volunteers for the office in Allegan.  These volunteers would  serve as loving listeners / caring support to those in need of assistance with local pantry supplies.  Tasks   include answering phone calls, interacting with clients and giving out vouchers.  Training and support is   offered.  Ministry days are Tuesday, 1 – 4pm and Thursday, noon – 3 pm at the First Baptist Church.    For more information call 269.751.2533.  Let your light shine in our community.

Bible League Spring Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 23 at 12 noon at the Harderwyk CRC (1627 W.   Lakewood Blvd. – Holland).  The lunch will be catered by James Street Inn.  The speaker will be Kim deBlecourt, author of “Until We All Come Home”, sharing about her frightening year-long struggle to            extricate her little boy from the past Soviet Ukraine.  Kim is from the Holland area and travels nationally  as an orphan advocate for various organizations.  To make your reservation contact Loie Capel (751.2701) by April 20.  Tickets are $8.

National Day of Prayer will be held on Thursday, May 7 at 12:15 – 12:45 pm at the Heath Township Hall in Hamilton.  This year’s theme is “Lord Hear Our Cry”.

Hamilton Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, April 23 at Hamilton Reformed Church from  noon – 5:45 pm.  For more information or to schedule an appointment (not required) go to redcrossblood.org or call 1.800.RED CROSS.

His Little Feet International Children’s Choir will be at Maranatha CRC in Holland on Sunday, April 26 at 5 pm.  The choir presentation will be in the sanctuary of Maranatha CRC (918 Central Avenue – Holland).  The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.  The choir children, ages 6 to 13, are        orphaned and rescued from countries including India, Ethiopia and Haiti.  While the children are a part  of the choir, they participate in His Little Feet’s nationwide “Light Your World” International Children’s Choir Tour.  This energetic, culturally unique Gospel-centered presentation brings attention to the plight     of millions of orphaned and vulnerable children living in the world today and offers opportunities for   people to respond and make a difference.
